This Footed Tear Drop Vase is made from an exquisite piece of spalted white birch which came from Melvin's Adirondack Mountain property where he first discovered the now highly prized "water-marked" wood.

Spalted Birch Has
a medium, semi-open grain, and is a light colored wood, in this case exhibiting greens, yellows and creamy browns. The zone lines are subtle and smooth, beautifully "placed" in the vase by this master turner..
